RUNAWAY TO WIND DOWN OPERATIONS
Company to Protect Customer, Vendor Payments

San Francisco, CA – January 12, 2006 -- After 37 years Runaway will wind down its business, president Ed Jackson announced today.

Jackson advised that the company is no longer accepting bookings for future reservations. Runaway will honor and fully service all paid-in-full reservations departing through February 28. All other bookings will receive a full refund or – in the case airline tickets have already been issued – a refund and the airline tickets.

According to Jackson Runaway will maintain staff through February 28, and beyond if needed, to work with agents and suppliers. “Taking care of our clients and vendors is our main priority. We are winding down, but we are not closing our doors.”

Jackson, who is personally calling key vendors and accounts to notify them, said, “Runaway fully intends to protect our clients and we will work with agents to try and protect space at the clients’ hotels. We are also in a position to pay all our vendors.”

Jackson attributes the decision to wind down to the difficulty in increasing sales due to changing market conditions.

Agents with questions are advised to call 1-800-622-0723. Vendors with questions should contact Mary Luz Torrico – mtorrico@runawaytours.com or Chelo Hendryx, chendryx@runawaytours.com.
