<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Astrotourism&nbsp;around the world in 2026: solar eclipse, meteor showers, Northern Lights, and stargazing</strong>&nbsp;</h2>

<p>By Gina Bang, <strong>Chief&nbsp;Sales&nbsp;and Marketing Officer – Avanti Destinations</strong>&nbsp;</p>

<p>People always ask me what it was like growing up in Kodiak, Alaska. I know what they&#8217;re really asking — the remoteness, the cold, the dark. And yes, all of that is true. But here&#8217;s what I actually tell them: my parents still live there, and the winter sky in Kodiak is one of the most luminous things I&#8217;ve ever seen. A full moon with snow all around you doesn&#8217;t feel dark — it feels <em>bright</em>. Millions of stars. Shooting stars. The Aurora dancing overhead. You stand there and think: I have never in my life seen a sky like this. </p>

<p>That&#8217;s my origin story with astrotourism. And it&#8217;s why I mean it when I say: in 2026, the universe is putting on a show, and you should be there for it. </p>

<p>We&#8217;ve been looking up at the sun, moon, and stars with awe and curiosity since the beginning of human history. And that looking up is precisely what connects us across cultures, centuries, and continents. Whether you want to witness a once-in-a-generation celestial event or simply sit quietly under a canopy of stars somewhere far from a city&#8217;s glow, astrotourism delivers the kind of travel that&#8217;s genuinely hard to forget. </p>

<p>And in 2026, the calendar is stacked.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/SpainPackage2026Eclipse-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5827" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/SpainPackage2026Eclipse-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/SpainPackage2026Eclipse-300x200.jpg 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/SpainPackage2026Eclipse-768x512.jpg 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/SpainPackage2026Eclipse-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/SpainPackage2026Eclipse-2048x1365.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Photo courtesy of Avanti Destinations</figcaption></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>The Big One: Solar Eclipse over Spain, August 12</strong>&nbsp;</h2>

<p>On August 12, a total solar eclipse will cross northern Spain, Iceland, and western Ireland, the first visible in Europe since 1999. Avanti has a seven-day/six-night Spain package departing August 10 that puts you exactly where you want to be: watching the eclipse <em>and</em> the Perseid meteor showers that same evening, from the top of a castle surrounded by vineyards. That&#8217;s not a sentence I expected to write, and yet here we are. </p>

<p>The itinerary winds through Madrid, the Ribera del Duero wine region, La Rioja, Zaragoza, and Barcelona, through medieval towns, wineries with tastings, stays in luxury historic properties (one was a synagogue in the 13th century). An expert astronomy guide is with you for the eclipse itself. It&#8217;s the kind of trip that has a story in every single element. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/NZealand-BigSkyStargazingMtCook-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5829" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/NZealand-BigSkyStargazingMtCook-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/NZealand-BigSkyStargazingMtCook-300x200.jpg 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/NZealand-BigSkyStargazingMtCook-768x512.jpg 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/NZealand-BigSkyStargazingMtCook-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/NZealand-BigSkyStargazingMtCook-2048x1365.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">New Zealand&#8217;s Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve, Photo courtesy of Avanti Destinations</figcaption></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Dark Sky Reserves: The Southern Hemisphere&#8217;s Best Kept Secrets</strong>&nbsp;</h2>

<p>New Zealand&#8217;s Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve is the largest in the southern hemisphere and one of the finest stargazing spots on the planet. It&#8217;s where the Milky Way is visible to the naked eye. A 1.5-hour guided tour pairs high-powered binoculars and state-of-the-art telescopes with a Theatre Planetarium orientation. Go in winter (our summer). </p>

<p>In Chile, the Atacama Desert logs more than 320 clear nights per year with minimal light pollution at high altitude. A two-hour experience, maximum of 15 guests, a driver, an astronomy guide, and an aperitif at a hand-picked location, is exactly the kind of thing that sounds understated and lands as extraordinary. </p>

<p>In Peru, the Cuzco Planetarium sits at over&nbsp;11,000 feet&nbsp;and grounds you in the ancient Andean relationship with the cosmos before sending you outside with professional astronomical equipment to see it for yourself.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Finland-StarlightSleddingNorthernLightsSearch-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5831" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Finland-StarlightSleddingNorthernLightsSearch-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Finland-StarlightSleddingNorthernLightsSearch-300x200.jpg 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Finland-StarlightSleddingNorthernLightsSearch-768x512.jpg 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Finland-StarlightSleddingNorthernLightsSearch-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Finland-StarlightSleddingNorthernLightsSearch-2048x1365.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Northern lights in Ruka, Finland, Photo courtesy of Avanti Destinations</figcaption></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Northern Lights: Multiple Ways to Chase the Aurora</strong>&nbsp;</h2>

<p>In the northern hemisphere, the Aurora Borealis remains the ultimate fleeting reward, and there are more ways to chase it than ever. Take an Aurora safari by snowmobile-pulled sledge near Ruka, Finland. Lace up snowshoes in Saariselka or Kiruna. Ride a dogsled in Sweden. Take a SuperJeep in Iceland. </p>

<p>My personal favorite on the list: a Northern Lights photography tour near Svolvaer in Norway&#8217;s remote Lofoten Islands, led by a local nature photographer who shares his favorite spots for capturing the best shots. That&#8217;s not a tour; it&#8217;s an invitation into someone&#8217;s world.</p>

<p>And if you really want to lean in, the Aurora Colosseum in Kiruna, Sweden is a handmade, hand-carved ice structure rebuilt every year. You arrive by snowmobile to watch the lights from beneath reindeer hides with fires nearby. Pair it with a stay at the legendary IceHotel in nearby Jukkasjärvi and you&#8217;ve got yourself a trip. </p>

<p>The universe has always been putting on a show. In 2026,&nbsp;we&#8217;ve&nbsp;got front-row seats.&nbsp;</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Walking with Words: Keeping Ancient Languages Alive</strong> </h2>

<p>By Classic Journeys</p>

<p>Languages are the true soul of a culture. They are living vessels of tradition, history, and identity, yet many of them are now on the brink of extinction. Of the roughly 7,000 languages spoken worldwide, at least 40% are endangered, and on average, one disappears every two weeks, taking with it generations of knowledge. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="832" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Japan-Classic-Journeys-1024x832.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5819" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Japan-Classic-Journeys-1024x832.jpg 1024w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Japan-Classic-Journeys-300x244.jpg 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Japan-Classic-Journeys-768x624.jpg 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Japan-Classic-Journeys.jpg 1100w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Photo courtesy of Classic Journeys</figcaption></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Why languages are vanishing</strong> </h2>

<p>Language loss has accelerated in recent decades, driven by powerful social and economic changes. Globalization, economic migration, and the dominance of national and global languages steadily reduce the number of speakers of indigenous, minority, and rural languages. In cities and expanding urban areas, children grow up surrounded by the majority language that is used in school, media, and technology, and may never fully learn the mother tongue of their parents or grandparents. When the last fluent speaker dies, a language can disappear almost overnight, sometimes before its grammar, vocabulary, and oral history have been fully documented. Each language carries an irreplaceable worldview, encoding unique ways of understanding health, the environment, spirituality, and community. Family stories can vanish when a language falls silent, erasing archives that were never written down. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="832" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Italian-Lakes-Classic-Journeys-1024x832.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5820" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Italian-Lakes-Classic-Journeys-1024x832.jpg 1024w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Italian-Lakes-Classic-Journeys-300x244.jpg 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Italian-Lakes-Classic-Journeys-768x624.jpg 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Italian-Lakes-Classic-Journeys.jpg 1100w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Photo courtesy of Classic Journeys</figcaption></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>UNESCO and global urgency</strong> </h2>

<p>UNESCO now describes this loss of linguistic diversity as a global emergency and has taken the lead in coordinating international efforts to protect and revitalize vulnerable languages. Its World Atlas of Languages tracks the status of thousands of at‑risk languages, categorizing levels of endangerment and calling for timely intervention. These efforts underscore that language preservation is not just about saving words, but about safeguarding entire systems of meaning and identity. When a community’s language is weakened, its cultural confidence and sense of continuity often weaken along with it. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="832" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Morocco-Classic-Journeys-1024x832.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5821" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Morocco-Classic-Journeys-1024x832.jpg 1024w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Morocco-Classic-Journeys-300x244.jpg 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Morocco-Classic-Journeys-768x624.jpg 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Morocco-Classic-Journeys.jpg 1100w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Photo courtesy of Classic Journeys</figcaption></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Regenerative travel and language</strong> </h2>

<p>A growing movement known as regenerative travel offers one powerful way to support linguistic resilience. While sustainable tourism aims to minimize harm, regenerative travel seeks to actively restore and enrich destinations, cultures, and communities. This approach is especially important for language preservation because linguistic diversity flourishes where communities feel their culture is valued, respected, and economically viable. Destinations that embrace regenerative travel – specifically where travelers engage with expert regional guides and interact together with locals – often see renewed pride in heritage, stronger intergenerational transmission of traditions. These authentic interactions allow more opportunities for local storytellers, artists, and guides to work in their mother tongues. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="832" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Portugal-Classic-Journeys-1024x832.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5823" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Portugal-Classic-Journeys-1024x832.jpg 1024w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Portugal-Classic-Journeys-300x244.jpg 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Portugal-Classic-Journeys-768x624.jpg 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Portugal-Classic-Journeys.jpg 1100w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Photo courtesy of Classic Journeys</figcaption></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>How travelers can help languages</strong> </h2>

<p>Regenerative travel reframes visitors not as spectators, but as stewards and partners.&nbsp;When travelers engage with local people&nbsp;and explore with a regional expert, they affirm the dignity and relevance of minority languages in everyday life.&nbsp;Exploring the world, there&nbsp;are several practical ways this comes to life:&nbsp;</p>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Travelers can seek experiences that include language immersion, story‑sharing, and participation in cultural events, so that the local language is used naturally rather than staged for show. </li>
</ul>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>By choosing locally owned hotels, restaurants, guides, and shops—especially in rural areas where endangered languages are still spoken—visitors can help keep those languages economically and socially present. </li>
</ul>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Thoughtful travel challenges the “cultural commodification” that reduces traditions to performances, and instead encourages genuine conversation, listening, and mutual learning. </li>
</ul>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Intentionally small group encounters or one‑to‑one exchanges create space for meaningful conversation, allowing local voices to be heard rather than drowned out by crowd noise. Learning and using simple greetings (or even a heartfelt thank you) in the local language can become a quiet act of solidarity. </li>
</ul>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="832" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Amalfi-Coast-Classic-Journeys-1024x832.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5824" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Amalfi-Coast-Classic-Journeys-1024x832.jpg 1024w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Amalfi-Coast-Classic-Journeys-300x244.jpg 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Amalfi-Coast-Classic-Journeys-768x624.jpg 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Amalfi-Coast-Classic-Journeys.jpg 1100w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Photo courtesy of Classic Journeys</figcaption></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Words as living commitments</strong> </h2>

<p>Partnerships with local experts, educators, and cultural organizations help travelers understand the pressures that endangered languages face and the efforts underway to sustain them. Learning a few phrases—whether “Egun on” (good morning in Basque), “Salam aleikum” (peace be upon you in Moroccan Arabic), or “Kia ora” (greetings in Māori of New Zealand)—is more than a courtesy. Each expression spoken with respect signals that the language and its speakers matter, here and now. In this sense, every exchanged greeting and shared story becomes a small but meaningful investment in the future of the world’s languages, helping keep them alive and loved, not just archived and remembered. </p>

<p><em>By: Zagreb Tourist Board</em></p>

<p>Zagreb is a city where culture breathes on every corner. Streets, squares, galleries, and stages create a vibrant cultural landscape where tradition meets modernity, and classical art blends seamlessly with contemporary expressions.  </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Stages of Creativity</strong>  </h2>

<p>The city offers a wide range of classical and contemporary theatre performances, as well as diverse festivals that enrich Zagreb’s cultural life. Every stage – from traditional plays to experimental performances – provides a fresh perspective on art and creativity, creating a strong connection between art and life, reality and imagination. Festivals and theatrical events give both local and international artists the opportunity to present their work, serving as a platform for the exchange of ideas and creativity. Whether in an intimate theatre hall or an open-air venue, every performance offers visitors a unique experience and a sense of participation in Zagreb’s vibrant cultural scene.  </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>From Heritage to Playful Discoveries</strong>  </h2>

<p>Zagreb boasts a rich network of museums and galleries, ranging from classical to innovative spaces. They preserve the city’s cultural heritage while offering modern, interactive exhibitions that appeal to visitors of all ages. Innovative displays and concepts not only inspire visitors but also serve as a model for similar initiatives featured on the Museums Maybe platform.  </p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img decoding="async" width="903" height="603" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/undefined-3.png" alt="" class="wp-image-5808" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/undefined-3.png 903w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/undefined-3-300x200.png 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/undefined-3-768x513.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 903px) 100vw, 903px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Photo courtesy of Zagreb Tourist Board</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>From “healing broken hearts” to incredible discoveries, these unusual and playful attractions offer anything but a typical museum experience. Whether you are an art lover, a history enthusiast, or simply enjoy surprises, Zagreb is full of unique collections waiting to be explored. Art in Zagreb is not confined to museum walls – it spills into streets, squares, and parks, turning every step into an unexpected encounter with creativity and inspiration.  </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Living Architecture</strong>  </h2>

<p>Architecture further shapes the city’s cultural identity. Churches, palaces, and public buildings were crafted by outstanding artists. At every corner, one can feel the presence of poets, composers, sculptors, and scientists. Even while sipping coffee at a city square like a local, you can sense the connection to the creativity that has shaped Zagreb over the centuries.  </p>

<div class="wp-block-image">

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Seasonal Splendor: Festivals and Open-air Culture in Zagreb</strong>  </h2>

<p>Open spaces often serve as backdrops for international film projects and as meeting points for cultural engagement. In spring, the <em>Festival of Lights Zagreb</em> illuminates the historic city center with artistic installations and interactive projections, blending technology, design, and creativity. Summer brings numerous outdoor festivals and concerts, highlighted by <em>Zagreb Classic</em>, an open-air classical music festival under the stars at King Tomislav Square, beloved by visitors of all ages. The festival combines music, art, and the magic of the open sky, offering an unforgettable experience for anyone wishing to experience Zagreb at its cultural best. Winter is crowned by the award-winning <em>Advent Zagreb</em>, when the city transforms into a real-life fairytale. Every year, this renowned event captures the hearts of visitors with its festive atmosphere, romantic decorations and vibrant cultural program, solidifying Zagreb’s status as a leading European Christmas destination.  </p>

<div class="wp-block-image">

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Zagreb’s Cultural Pulse: Open, Accessible, and Alive</strong>  </h2>

<p>Culture in Zagreb is not just a collection of institutions and events – it is a way of life. The city offers experiences to suit every interest: from festivals and street performances to concert halls and exhibition spaces. Whether it’s opera, jazz, rock concerts, contemporary art exhibitions, numerous film festivals, or open-air performances, Zagreb has it all.  </p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img decoding="async" width="903" height="603" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/undefined-5.png" alt="" class="wp-image-5806" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/undefined-5.png 903w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/undefined-5-300x200.png 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/undefined-5-768x513.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 903px) 100vw, 903px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Photo courtesy of Zagreb Tourist Board</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>All of this makes Zagreb a city where culture is not reserved for the few. It is open, accessible, and diverse. Every visitor can enjoy a unique experience – rich in tradition and contemporary expression, always ready for new discoveries.  </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Three Reasons to&nbsp;Travel in the Off-Season Any Time&nbsp;of Year</strong>&nbsp;</h2>

<p>Traveling during a destination’s off-season has value for you as a traveler and the destination. Off-season travel isn&#8217;t just smart; it&#8217;s a more responsible way to travel.</p>

<p>First, off-season travel often brings more mild temperatures. Europe is popular in the summer, but you may spend precious exploring time searching for a place to cool off. Second, travel expenses are typically cheaper. Flights to popular destinations take a dip in the off-season, and many tour operators offer deals on tour to destinations during their low season. Third, it helps contribute to a more sustainable future of travel. Traveling during a destination’s off-peak season reduces strain on local ecosystems while also supporting communities that depend on tourism by extending the time period they can make money. And the ultimate added perk? You won’t have to battle crowds at every turn.</p>

<p>Now that&nbsp;you’re&nbsp;sold on&nbsp;off-season travel, you may be wondering when&nbsp;the off-season is. The surprise here is that&nbsp;there’s&nbsp;a destination with a low season every month of the year.&nbsp;Peruse&nbsp;these itineraries offered by USTOA tour operators and find a destination no matter when&nbsp;you’re&nbsp;looking to travel.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Spring</h2>

<p><a href="https://www.globusjourneys.com/"><strong>Globus</strong></a> has a whole line of off-season itineraries. Their <a href="https://www.globusjourneys.com/ways-to-travel/escapes/"><strong>Escapes tour</strong>s</a> offer the opportunity to save money and beat the crowds, plus they waive their single supplement on most itineraries. Their <strong><em><a href="https://www.globusjourneys.com/tour/cairo-alexandria-escape/kqix/?season=2026" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Cairo and Alexandria Escape</a></em> </strong>runs in April. Marvel at the incredible history on display at the Grand Egyptian Museum. Then visit the Sphinx and the Great Pyramid of Giza, the oldest of the seven wonders of the ancient world. In Alexandria, explore the Catacombs of Kom El Shogafa, Pompey&#8217;s Pillar, and the lush Montazah Gardens. The weather in April is generally more mild than peak summer with temperatures around 80°F.</p>

<p>Comfortable temperatures&nbsp;and thinned crowds make spring the perfect time for<strong> <a href="https://www.intrepidtravel.com/us" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Intrepid Travel&#8217;s</a></strong><em><strong> <a href="https://www.intrepidtravel.com/us/spain/premium-spain-167049" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Premium Spain</a> </strong></em>tour.&nbsp;In March and April, you&#8217;ll feel like you have the tourist destinations all to yourself, so museums, parks, and palaces are on the docket. Take in a live flamenco show and tour the Alcazar Palace in Seville. Visit an oil mill in the Andalucía region, then travel to Valencia where you can indulge in authentic paella. End your whirlwind trip exploring Barcelona.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Summer</h2>

<p>If you&#8217;re looking for a destination with a summer low season,<strong> <a href="https://www.gadventures.com/trips/best-of-the-philippines/APME/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">G Adventures</a></strong> recommends visiting the Philippines between May and October. Known as the country’s green season, this traditionally less popular time to visit the country offers lush jungles, quieter beaches, and a more relaxed pace. On their<a href="https://www.gadventures.com/trips/best-of-the-philippines/APME/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> <em><strong>Best of the Philippines</strong></em></a> tour, you will eat your way through Manila’s Chinatown, hike through the jungle at Mount Purro Nature Reserve, and cruise through Puerto Princesa’s famous underground river.  </p>

<p><strong><a href="https://www.insightvacations.com/en-us" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Insight Vacations</a></strong> recommends summer for a trip to Brazil and Argentina. Their off-season is June-August, which is technically their winter. The cooler weather makes it the perfect time for an active adventure like hiking, while temperatures will still range from 60°F to 80°F. Their <strong><em><a href="https://www.insightvacations.com/en-us/tours/contrasts-of-brazil-argentina?optionId=1696" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Contrasts of Brazil &amp; Argentina</a> </em></strong>tour is a great way to spend your summer vacation. In Buenos Aires, experience tango as well as a crash course in the country&#8217;s political history. Explore the gaucho heritage at a working estancia in the Pampas. Complete your trip with a cable car ride to Sugarloaf Mountain where you can stand beneath the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>5 Ways Luxury Travel Is Being Redefined in 2026</strong> </h2>

<p>By Classic Vacations®</p>

<p>Luxury travel is entering a quieter, more intentional era. As travelers look ahead to 2026, the definition of luxury is no longer rooted in excess or spectacle, but in meaning.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Inspired by insights from Classic Vacations®’ 2026 Luxury Travel Trends Report and grounded in firsthand observations from travel advisors across the country, a clear picture is&nbsp;emerging: today’s luxury traveler is seeking purpose, privacy, personalization, and presence. These five evolving trends reveal how luxury travel is being thoughtfully redefined.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/getty-images-F4HaaGFpqRs-unsplash-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5768" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/getty-images-F4HaaGFpqRs-unsplash-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/getty-images-F4HaaGFpqRs-unsplash-300x200.jpg 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/getty-images-F4HaaGFpqRs-unsplash-768x512.jpg 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/getty-images-F4HaaGFpqRs-unsplash-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/getty-images-F4HaaGFpqRs-unsplash-2048x1365.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Taking time to pause and take in the view reflects the growing desire for calm, presence, and intentional travel. <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>1. Whycations: Travel with Purpose</strong> </h2>

<p>In 2026, luxury travelers are asking “why” before &#8220;where.”&nbsp;</p>

<p>“Whycations” are journeys driven by intention, whether that means celebrating a milestone, reconnecting with family, restoring well-being, or exploring personal interests like food, art, or history. Rather than traveling for status, travelers are choosing experiences that align with their values and life moments.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Luxury, in this sense, becomes deeply personal. It is less about the destination itself and more about the meaning attached to being there, encouraging slower, more mindful travel.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/colin-meg-s4sCOquSurE-unsplash-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5767" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/colin-meg-s4sCOquSurE-unsplash-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/colin-meg-s4sCOquSurE-unsplash-300x200.jpg 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/colin-meg-s4sCOquSurE-unsplash-768x512.jpg 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/colin-meg-s4sCOquSurE-unsplash-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/colin-meg-s4sCOquSurE-unsplash-2048x1365.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">A quiet moment surrounded by nature shows how restorative travel allows families to slow down and reconnect with each other and their surroundings. <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>2. Hushpitality: The Rise of Quiet Luxury</strong> </h2>

<p>The most powerful luxury experiences in 2026 are defined by subtlety, not&nbsp;spectacle.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“Hushpitality” reflects a growing desire for privacy, calm, and restoration. Travelers are gravitating toward intimate resorts, hidden villas, low-key destinations, and experiences that feel discovered rather than overexposed. These environments allow travelers to disconnect from constant noise and truly unwind.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This shift is redefining indulgence. True luxury is no longer about being seen, but about feeling at ease — where service is intuitive, privacy is protected, and a sense of place replaces excess.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Multi-Generational-Family-On-Vacation-Walking-Along-Beach-Together-1024x683.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-5769" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Multi-Generational-Family-On-Vacation-Walking-Along-Beach-Together-1024x683.jpeg 1024w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Multi-Generational-Family-On-Vacation-Walking-Along-Beach-Together-300x200.jpeg 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Multi-Generational-Family-On-Vacation-Walking-Along-Beach-Together-768x512.jpeg 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Multi-Generational-Family-On-Vacation-Walking-Along-Beach-Together-1536x1024.jpeg 1536w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Multi-Generational-Family-On-Vacation-Walking-Along-Beach-Together-2048x1366.jpeg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Multi-generational travel brings families together, creating shared memories that span ages, stories, and life stages. <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>3. Personalized Luxury Over One-Size-Fits-All</strong> </h2>

<p>Customization has moved from a nice-to-have to an essential part of the luxury experience.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Travel advisors report that clients increasingly want journeys designed around their individual interests, rhythms, and preferences. From tailored wellness programs and culinary-focused itineraries to immersive excursions and flexible pacing, personalization now sits at the center of luxury travel.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As travel becomes more individualized, the role of expert guidance becomes even more important. Advisors convert insider knowledge into seamless, bespoke journeys. In 2026, luxury is not defined by how much is included — it is defined by how precisely it fits.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/a-c-x9BvXZqQmxQ-unsplash-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5764" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/a-c-x9BvXZqQmxQ-unsplash-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/a-c-x9BvXZqQmxQ-unsplash-300x200.jpg 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/a-c-x9BvXZqQmxQ-unsplash-768x512.jpg 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/a-c-x9BvXZqQmxQ-unsplash-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/a-c-x9BvXZqQmxQ-unsplash-2048x1365.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Hands shaping fresh dough during a cooking experience highlight how culinary traditions offer an intimate connection to local culture. Photo Credit: A.C., courtesy of Classic Vacations. </figcaption></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>4. Connectivity That Deepens, Not Distracts</strong> </h2>

<p>While travelers may be stepping away from constant digital noise, connection still matters, just more intentionally.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Luxury travelers are seeking meaningful connectivity, including deeper relationships with local culture, artisans, cuisine, and communities, as well as intentional time with those they travel with. Experiences that foster cultural exchange and shared moments are resonating more than those focused solely on amenities.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Behind-the-scenes, factors such as reliable service, thoughtful planning, and trusted partnerships ensure that the journey feels effortless, allowing travelers to remain present without distraction.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="767" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/tholaal-mohamed-OWdClp8xWzI-unsplash-1024x767.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5770" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/tholaal-mohamed-OWdClp8xWzI-unsplash-1024x767.jpg 1024w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/tholaal-mohamed-OWdClp8xWzI-unsplash-300x225.jpg 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/tholaal-mohamed-OWdClp8xWzI-unsplash-768x576.jpg 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/tholaal-mohamed-OWdClp8xWzI-unsplash-1536x1151.jpg 1536w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/tholaal-mohamed-OWdClp8xWzI-unsplash-2048x1535.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">An overwater retreat illustrates how luxury in 2026 balances comfort and privacy with a deep sense of place. Photo Credit: Tholaal Mohamed, courtesy of Classic Vacations</figcaption></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>5. The Return of YOLO — Refined</strong> </h2>

<p>The YOLO mindset has not disappeared; it has evolved.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Travel advisors are seeing clients embrace once-in-a-lifetime experiences again, but with greater intention. Splurges are thoughtful rather than impulsive. Whether it is a private guide, a rare culinary experience, or an extended stay in a meaningful destination, travelers are investing in moments that will last far beyond the trip.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Luxury in 2026 celebrates joy and spontaneity, balanced with depth and purpose, proving that indulgence and intention can coexist.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/AdobeStock_635054281-1024x683.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-5765" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/AdobeStock_635054281-1024x683.jpeg 1024w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/AdobeStock_635054281-300x200.jpeg 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/AdobeStock_635054281-768x512.jpeg 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/AdobeStock_635054281-1536x1024.jpeg 1536w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/AdobeStock_635054281-2048x1365.jpeg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Shared moments by the sea remind travelers that meaningful connection and togetherness are often the most luxurious parts of a journey. Photo Credit: Prostock-studio, courtesy of Classic Vacations.</figcaption></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Looking Ahead: A More Thoughtful Definition of Luxury</strong> </h2>

<p>In 2026, luxury travel is defined by intention, favoring purpose over excess, depth over display, and connection over consumption. It reflects journeys that respect destination, culture, and&nbsp;traveler&nbsp;alike, creating experiences that feel personal and restorative.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As travelers embrace this shift, the future of travel moves toward experiences that preserve place, elevate local voices, and create lasting connection — journeys that are felt long after they end.&nbsp;</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Europe in a Nutshell – The Alps to Adriatic Region&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>By Robert Dee, co-founder of New Deal Europe</p>

<p><strong><em>Europe in a nutshell.</em></strong><strong><em> That’s a bold claim, but having travelled all over Europe, I can honestly say that this region lives up to this statement. Let me tell you why you and your clients should go there.</em></strong>&nbsp;</p>

<p>Covering Italy’s Friuli-Venezia-Giulia (FVG), Slovenia’s Julian Alps, Vipava Valley and Karst, and extending&nbsp; into Umag in Croatia, this region holds a unique geo-strategic position, nestled between the Alps and the northern tip of the Adriatic (Mediterranean) Sea. It has been a crossroads of Europe for millennia. Slavic, Roman, and Germano-Austrian cultures combine uniquely here with Italian, Slovenian, Croatian and German all recognised as official national languages, and Friulian also having designated official status.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>For centuries, anyone travelling across Europe from West to East passed through here, leaving their mark. Roman ruins, Venetian city walls and palaces, Austro-Hungarian residences, and ancient hilltop towns and fortresses offer testimony to the past. Unquestionably there is much to attract the cultural tourist seeking to understand not only the history of the region, but also the history of Europe.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img decoding="async" width="708" height="800" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-36.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5667" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-36.jpg 708w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-36-266x300.jpg 266w" sizes="(max-width: 708px) 100vw, 708px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">The author, Robert Dee, on the remnants of the &#8216;Iron Curtain&#8217; at Gorizia /Nova Gorica, this year&#8217;s European Capital of Culture, with one foot in Italy and the other in Slovenia<br> Photo courtesy of Robert Dee, New Deal Europe</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Unsurprisingly, its riches have been fought over by successive generations, leading to today’s borders; yet it now offers borderless, frictionless travel across neighbouring countries, exemplified by this year’s European Capital of Culture, Gorizia/Nova Gorica. Once divided by the Iron Curtain between Italy and Yugoslavia, the city lived split lives for nearly half a century. Today, the remnants of the Iron Curtain are a quirky and fun tourist attraction, and it is even possible to do a ‘smuggling tour’ reliving what it was like to smuggle western goods into Yugoslavia, a unique experience which I can highly recommend. But the city offers much more, including an abbey where the first book in the Slovenian language is housed and where the last Bourbon King of France is buried. Who knew?&nbsp;</p>

<p>It’s true that travellers today are looking for less crowded destinations, and seeking experiences related to nature and the outdoors. The Alps-Adriatic region is the perfect destination in Europe to offer this: a jewel in the heart of Europe, yet a relatively undiscovered part of the continent, with huge potential for sustainable, responsible and active tourism. Embracing the mountain peaks of the Triglav National Park, the dramatic Sava and Soča rivers, the extensive cave systems of the Karst, (including the UNESCO listed Škocjan caves), the vast pine forests of FVG, and the varied coastline of the Adriatic, these destinations offer endless opportunities for eco-friendly activities. This includes home and farm stays often coupled with experiences unique to the region, which is potentially unrivalled in Europe… and I haven’t even mentioned that Lake Bohinj in Slovenia was named most sustainable tourism destination in the World at the World Tourism Awards, or that FVG has thirteen villages on the register of ‘<em>I Borghi più belli d’Italia’</em>. There is much here to tempt the visitor away from the nearby tourist hub of Venice.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img decoding="async" width="519" height="800" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-35.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5668" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-35.jpg 519w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-35-195x300.jpg 195w" sizes="(max-width: 519px) 100vw, 519px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Chatting with a local producer in an organic vineyard in Umag, Croatia, famous for its red earth.<br>Photo courtesy of Robert Dee, New Deal Europe</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Activity and immersion in nature and community is at the heart of the tourism offering. Whitewater rafting and canoeing can be done on the turquoise waters of the Soča River, water sports at the coast, golf in the Alps or on one of Croatia’s two 18 hole courses, and tennis is ubiquitous in Umag (the venue for an ATP tournament it has over 70 tennis courts). A network of well-marked hiking and biking trails running from the dramatic alps to the historic coastal towns connects the region. They run through the vineyards of FVG, and Slovenia’s Vipava Valley, offering opportunities to taste and learn about the excellent local produce.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="573" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-39.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5671" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-39.jpg 800w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-39-300x215.jpg 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-39-768x550.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Horse whispering the famous Lipizzaner foals from the Spanish Riding School at the Lipica Stud Farm on a cycle ride through the Karst region.<br>Photo courtesy of Robert Dee, New Deal Europe</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Wine connoisseurs will be familiar with Collio in Italy and Goriška Brda and Vipava Valley in Slovenia whose winemakers pioneered the orange biodynamic wine movement, now acclaimed worldwide. The vineyards around Umag in Croatia are less well known but fascinating to visit, as they benefit from a rich red soil found only in a handful of places around the world. This soil also plays a part in the production of the award winning Istrian olive oils, said by many to be the best in the world. Don’t leave here without sampling courtesy of a local producer.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="762" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-20-1024x762.png" alt="" class="wp-image-5670" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-20-1024x762.png 1024w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-20-300x223.png 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-20-768x572.png 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-20-1536x1143.png 1536w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-20-2048x1524.png 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">A platter of homemade cheeses, sausages, and ham with local olives and almonds. <br> Photo courtesy of Robert Dee, New Deal Europe</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Which leads me to gastronomy. The region is home to many Michelin starred restaurants showcasing the best of local produce and local chefs, including Ana Roš, the world’s leading female chef. But you don’t have to go high end to taste great food here. Many farms offer smoked meats and sausages, home-made cheeses, and honey, which in my view is the best you can buy anywhere.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img decoding="async" width="600" height="800" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-38.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5665" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-38.jpg 600w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-38-225x300.jpg 225w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Relaxing at the Adriatic Sea in the historic city and Imperial Habsburg port of Trieste, Italy.<br>Photo courtesy of Robert Dee, New Deal Europe</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The variety of landscapes and cultures in such a small space is unparalleled in Europe. Dramatic Alps, rolling hills, vineyards, a coastline peppered with historic towns, and unique attractions such as the Lipica stud farm, where the world-famous Lipizzaner horses of Vienna’s Spanish Riding School are bred and from which they take their name, make this a true microcosm of Europe. The unique cultural and natural heritage of the Alps-Adriatic region, connected by eco-friendly transport and marked by strong cross-border cooperation, should definitely make it your next place to visit in Europe.&nbsp;</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Practical Information</h2>

<p>As you would expect from a region in the heart of Europe, it is exceptionally well connected, with major roads and railways, ports that are regular stops for cruise ships, and Trieste International Airport offering an increasing number of routes to key European destinations. Other major airports, such as Ljubljana and Venice, are only a short drive away. This accessibility is matched by the region’s diversity, offering a full range of accommodation options – from mountain-chic boutique hotels to campsites, private stays, and city hotels, with all the major international brands represented in one way or another. The same variety extends to DMC providers, many of whom run cross-border programmes, while others specialise in unique local experiences.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Where the Wild Things Are: The Magic of African Safari</strong> </h2>

<p>By: African Travel Inc.</p>

<p>No matter how many wildlife documentaries you’ve watched—or how many Instagram reels you’ve scrolled through—nothing prepares you for the moment you see your first lion in the wild or when a herd of elephants passes silently just feet away.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Across Africa, these are the kinds of encounters that stay with you forever. It’s undeniably unforgettable—some even describe it as life-changing.&nbsp;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<iframe loading="lazy" title="A New Day on Safari Partner" width="500" height="281" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/hhTAY8nXT0o?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe>
</div></figure>

<p>What makes these encounters even more meaningful is the backdrop of conservation. Over recent decades, many wildlife populations have rebounded thanks to protected areas, anti-poaching efforts, community-led initiatives, and sustainable tourism. Take the black rhino—still critically endangered, yet its numbers have more than doubled in the past 30 years. These aren’t just success stories on paper; they’re playing out in real time across Africa’s wild landscapes—and there&#8217;s no better place to witness them than in the heart of the continent’s iconic wilderness. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>South Africa: Classic Safaris and Big 5 Encounters</strong> </h2>

<p>South Africa remains one of the top choices for first-time safari-goers—and for good reason. The Greater Kruger area is famous for consistent Big 5 sightings: lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo. While Kruger National Park itself is an attraction, private reserves like Sabi Sand offer a more intimate and exclusive experience. With limited guests, off-road access, and expert guides, visitors enjoy close-up wildlife encounters with fewer crowds.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Luxury safari lodges elevate the journey even further, combining adventure with comfort. Many travelers pair their safari with a few days exploring Cape Town’s vibrant culture and coastline, creating a well-rounded introduction to Africa.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="678" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Sabi-Sabi_On-Safari-5-1-1024x678.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5656" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Sabi-Sabi_On-Safari-5-1-1024x678.jpg 1024w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Sabi-Sabi_On-Safari-5-1-300x199.jpg 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Sabi-Sabi_On-Safari-5-1-768x509.jpg 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Sabi-Sabi_On-Safari-5-1-1536x1017.jpg 1536w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Sabi-Sabi_On-Safari-5-1-2048x1357.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Credit: Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve</figcaption></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Kenya &amp; Tanzania: The Great Migration and Beyond</strong> </h2>

<p>The Great Migration is one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife spectacles, yet it’s often misunderstood. Rather than a single event, it’s a year-round, circular journey of over a million wildebeest, along with hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles, moving between Tanzania’s Serengeti and Kenya’s Masai Mara in search of fresh grazing. With expert planning, travelers can witness dramatic moments—like river crossings or calving season—at the right place and time. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/ANGAMA-MARA-time-to-cross-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5657" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/ANGAMA-MARA-time-to-cross-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/ANGAMA-MARA-time-to-cross-300x200.jpg 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/ANGAMA-MARA-time-to-cross-768x512.jpg 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/ANGAMA-MARA-time-to-cross-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/ANGAMA-MARA-time-to-cross-2048x1365.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Credit: Anagama Mara </figcaption></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Tanzania: Legendary Parks and Vast Wilderness</strong> </h2>

<p>Beyond the Great Migration, Tanzania is home to some of Africa’s most iconic national parks, including the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire, and Lake Manyara. These areas offer an incredible diversity of landscapes and species, from vast savannahs teeming with big cats to volcanic calderas sheltering dense populations of wildlife. Private concessions within the national parks provide an added layer of exclusivity, allowing for off-road game drives, walking safaris, and night drives. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="684" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Serengeti-Balloon-Safari-1-1-2-1024x684.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5658" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Serengeti-Balloon-Safari-1-1-2-1024x684.jpg 1024w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Serengeti-Balloon-Safari-1-1-2-300x201.jpg 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Serengeti-Balloon-Safari-1-1-2-768x513.jpg 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Serengeti-Balloon-Safari-1-1-2-1536x1027.jpg 1536w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Serengeti-Balloon-Safari-1-1-2-2048x1369.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Credit: Serengeti Balloon Safaris</figcaption></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Kenya: Conservation and Rare Species Encounters</strong></h2>

<p>Kenya, the birthplace of safari, blends “Out of Africa” charm with forward-thinking conservation. The Masai Mara is not only a key migration corridor but also home to one of the highest concentrations of large predators in Africa. In northern Kenya, Laikipia and Samburu offer a network of private conservancies that provide more personalized, crowd-free safari experiences.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This region also presents a chance to see rare and endemic species such as the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, and Somali ostrich. Travelers can engage with local communities, join anti-poaching patrols, or track wildlife alongside rangers—deepening their connection to both the land and its people.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Lewa-Safari-Camp-Game-Drive-Rhino-1-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5659" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Lewa-Safari-Camp-Game-Drive-Rhino-1-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Lewa-Safari-Camp-Game-Drive-Rhino-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Lewa-Safari-Camp-Game-Drive-Rhino-1-768x512.jpg 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Lewa-Safari-Camp-Game-Drive-Rhino-1-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Lewa-Safari-Camp-Game-Drive-Rhino-1-2048x1365.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Credit: Elewana Lewa Safari Camp</figcaption></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Botswana: Luxury in the Wild</strong></h2>

<p>Botswana offers one of Africa’s most rewarding safari experiences for those who value space, solitude, and unspoiled landscapes. With its high-value, low-impact approach to tourism, it’s a destination where wildlife thrives and visitors are few.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the Okavango Delta—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—safaris unfold on land and water. Mokoro rides glide through floodplains, while game drives and bush walks reveal lions, leopards, and African wild dogs. Camps like Xigera and Tawana offer exceptional luxury without losing the sense of being deep in the wild.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The stark Makgadikgadi Pans offer a completely different perspective—endless salt flats, meerkat encounters at sunrise, and walks with San Bushmen that add a cultural layer to the safari experience. Each year from late December to March, the Makgadikgadi Pans host Africa’s second-largest mammal migration, as around 30,000 zebras journey from the Okavango Delta to feast on the fresh grasses brought by the rains, before retracing their route north.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="575" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/xigera_Mokoro_11-1024x575.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5660" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/xigera_Mokoro_11-1024x575.jpg 1024w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/xigera_Mokoro_11-300x169.jpg 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/xigera_Mokoro_11-768x432.jpg 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/xigera_Mokoro_11-1536x863.jpg 1536w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/xigera_Mokoro_11-2048x1151.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Credit: Xigera Safari Lodge </figcaption></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Rwanda: Life-Changing Gorilla Encounters</strong> </h2>

<p>For primate enthusiasts, few experiences rival a trek to see mountain gorillas in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park. Once a country marked by conflict, Rwanda has become a model for conservation and tourism development. Today, it’s one of the safest and most progressive countries in Africa.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Gorilla trekking is both humbling and exhilarating—an intimate, once-in-a-lifetime encounter that leaves a deep impact. Rwanda also offers golden monkey treks, cultural experiences, and luxury eco-lodges that support local communities and conservation efforts.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="682" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Bisate-Volcanoes-National-Park-Rwanda-gorilla-1-1024x682.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5661" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Bisate-Volcanoes-National-Park-Rwanda-gorilla-1-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Bisate-Volcanoes-National-Park-Rwanda-gorilla-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Bisate-Volcanoes-National-Park-Rwanda-gorilla-1-768x511.jpg 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Bisate-Volcanoes-National-Park-Rwanda-gorilla-1-1536x1022.jpg 1536w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Bisate-Volcanoes-National-Park-Rwanda-gorilla-1-2048x1363.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Wilderness Bisate</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>These unforgettable wildlife encounters aren’t just stories—they’re experiences you have to see for yourself. There’s no better time than now to start planning your African adventure and create memories that will last a lifetime. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>THE JOY OF THE JOURNEY: WHY TRAIN TRAVEL IS THE ULTIMATE WAY TO GET MORE OUT OF YOUR ADVENTURE</strong> </h2>

<p><em>From bullet trains to bunk beds, rail travel is a truly immersive experience </em> </p>

<p><strong>By: Yves Marceau, VP of product for G Adventures</strong> </p>

<p>When traveling, it’s all too easy to skip from one destination to the next, without really appreciating what we see along the way. “It’s not the destination, it’s the journey,” is a phrase we’ve all heard. At G Adventures, we believe it’s both. That’s why we recently launched our Rail Collection – 60 joyful train journeys across 20 countries that help travelers to travel flexibly and responsibly, while also offering true cultural immersion in a destination. &nbsp;</p>

<p>There are so many reasons why train travel is increasingly important for a community tourism-focused operator like ours, allowing you to get more out of your adventure. Here are just some of them.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/High-speed-train_China-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5650" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/High-speed-train_China-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/High-speed-train_China-300x200.jpg 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/High-speed-train_China-768x512.jpg 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/High-speed-train_China-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/High-speed-train_China-2048x1365.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Photo credit: G Adventures</figcaption></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>It encourages you to slow down</strong> </h2>

<p>In a literal sense, opting for a train journey instead of a flight is a slower form of travel. Even G Adventures’ Rail Collection trips in Japan, which include journeys on the famous bullet train, are slow compared to air travel. But importantly, traveling by train also encourages you to slow down, too. What you may feel like you are ‘losing’ in time, you are gaining elsewhere – leaving the pace of the journey to someone is freeing, and the hypnotic trundle on a train can do wonders for helping your mind slow, something that can be increasingly hard to do in a fast-paced world.  </p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="715" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/High-speed-train_Japan_2-1024x715.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5649" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/High-speed-train_Japan_2-1024x715.jpg 1024w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/High-speed-train_Japan_2-300x210.jpg 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/High-speed-train_Japan_2-768x536.jpg 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/High-speed-train_Japan_2-1536x1073.jpg 1536w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/High-speed-train_Japan_2-2048x1431.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Photo credit: G Adventures</figcaption></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>It can be a more immersive experience</strong> </h2>

<p>Major airports across the world have a tendency to look, feel, smell and sound the same. Train journeys do not. A train trip fully immerses you in the destination and doesn’t let you bypass local life on the ground. Whether it’s what you’re seeing out the window, from miles of countryside to rarely-seen villages, to what you’re smelling on board, or what you’re eating along the way. And while airports go big on global food chains when it comes to eating options, at train stations, particularly smaller ones out of bigger cities, you’re more likely to find smaller independent cafes and food sellers, giving you the chance to try more local dishes &#8211; and put traveler dollars directly into the pocket of locals. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Train_Poland-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5648" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Train_Poland-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Train_Poland-300x200.jpg 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Train_Poland-768x512.jpg 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Train_Poland-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Train_Poland-2048x1365.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Photo credit: G Adventures</figcaption></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Big picture benefits</strong></h2>

<p>Using public rail transportation not only helps infuse money into communities that wouldn’t usually benefit from tourism income, but also helps keep commuter rail travel funded and more affordable for locals. It’s a simple yet great example of how tourism can be a force for good, and benefit communities on a much more local level in the easiest of ways.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Traveller_on_Train-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5645" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Traveller_on_Train-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Traveller_on_Train-300x200.jpg 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Traveller_on_Train-768x512.jpg 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Traveller_on_Train-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Traveller_on_Train-2048x1365.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Photo credit: G Adventures</figcaption></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>It encourages new connections</strong> </h2>

<p>Chances are you’ve taken a seat on a train and spent the journey sitting opposite someone. It’s impossible – certainly with the longer train journeys G Adventures features in its Rail Collection – to not interact with the people around you. Some of our favorite Rail Collection trips feature day-long journeys across India, where your local travel companions start out as strangers, but soon become acquaintances with stories to tell, giving a unique and powerful insight into life on unhurried journeys. And how could you possibly share a bunk cabin on a sleeper train in Vietnam without a spontaneous conversation – or long game of cards – with your new cabin mates? Authentic interactions like these are the memories we take away from trips abroad – and they’re often the stories that we tell, too. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/High-speed-train_Japan-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5646" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/High-speed-train_Japan-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/High-speed-train_Japan-300x200.jpg 300w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/High-speed-train_Japan-768x512.jpg 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/High-speed-train_Japan-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/High-speed-train_Japan-2048x1365.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Photo credit: G Adventures</figcaption></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>It’s a true adventure </strong> </h2>

<p>Ever seen a toddler or group of kids gleefully smiling at a train passing by? Trains have been synonymous with adventure since we were kids. And as adults, what’s one person’s commuter train is another person’s adventure. It may look like a train ride through the bucolic Italian countryside, it may be a night rocking to sleep on the top bunk of a train journeying across Japan, or it may be a bullet train whizzing at the speed of light (almost) from Shanghai to Berlin. It’s a meaningful way to see the world – a journey to be celebrated, not endured. </p>

<p class="has-text-align-center"><em><strong>About G Adventures</strong></em></p>

<p class="has-text-align-left">G Adventures isn’t just a travel company, we’re a movement. Since 1990, when social entrepreneur Bruce Poon Tip set out to change the way people see the world, we’ve been leading the way in community tourism and small-group adventure travel. With more than 850 life-changing trips in 100 countries across all seven continents, we help travelers connect deeply with local people, cultures, landscapes and wildlife, &nbsp;all while having a blast.&nbsp;</p>

<p>But it doesn’t stop there. With us, travel &nbsp;is about passion, purpose, and making a difference. Our ‘G for Good’ social impact commitments ensure every journey supports local communities, with over 130 community tourism projects powered by our non-profit partner, Planeterra, and our industry-first Ripple Score<img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/15.0.3/72x72/2122.png" alt="™" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" />, &nbsp;which tracks how much of our travelers&#8217; money stays local. And through our Trees for Days initiative, we’ve planted over 3 million trees (and counting), one for every traveler, every day they are on trip with us, helping communities and the planet to thrive together.&nbsp;</p>

<p>At G Adventures, we believe in changing lives through travel, and not just for the traveler. Our unique company culture fuels a global community that transcends borders, connecting people with purpose and spreading joy, curiosity, and humanity in everything we do. <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Fun for the WHOLE Fam – Dog-Friendly Hotel Brands &amp; Their Special Amenities</strong>&nbsp;</h2>

<p><strong>Author: Su-Jit Lin, ALG Vacations®</strong>&nbsp;</p>

<p>For many Americans, dogs have become even more than members of the family – they’re the new kids.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to recent studies, 58% of millennials have said they prefer to have pets rather than children, and 89% of dog-owners make home buying decisions based on their pets. Moreover, 78% of Americans traveled with their pets in 2024; over a third opt to fly with them.&nbsp;</p>

<p>That said, it only makes sense that “fun for the whole family” is beginning to mean more than just child-friendly. Pets are now becoming valued guests at hotels with zero to nominal fees for deep cleaning. Even tour operators, such as <a href="https://nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.algvacations.com%2F&amp;data=05%7C02%7Cford%40redpointmarketingpr.com%7C6d3e5ca2f4384a441b4108ddb7ed456d%7C9fa4aa92402e49ff9485c67a6b654817%7C1%7C0%7C638868951929055241%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=xbz4UsFXqfNcVsSH5e6LFUuJIjZFyl9Ixwsd8%2FSBA4U%3D&amp;reserved=0" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">ALG Vacations®,</a> have added a pet-friendly filter to their booking engine!&nbsp;</p>

<p>If you can’t see yourself traveling without your furry bestie, here’s how these dog-loving brands can make your shared stays special.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="771" height="1024" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Ritz-Carlton-Reynolds-Lake-Credit-Su-Jit-Lin-1-771x1024.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5637" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Ritz-Carlton-Reynolds-Lake-Credit-Su-Jit-Lin-1-771x1024.jpg 771w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Ritz-Carlton-Reynolds-Lake-Credit-Su-Jit-Lin-1-226x300.jpg 226w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Ritz-Carlton-Reynolds-Lake-Credit-Su-Jit-Lin-1-768x1020.jpg 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Ritz-Carlton-Reynolds-Lake-Credit-Su-Jit-Lin-1-1157x1536.jpg 1157w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Ritz-Carlton-Reynolds-Lake-Credit-Su-Jit-Lin-1-1542x2048.jpg 1542w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Ritz-Carlton-Reynolds-Lake-Credit-Su-Jit-Lin-1-scaled.jpg 1928w" sizes="(max-width: 771px) 100vw, 771px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Ritz Carlton Reynolds Lake, Photo Credit: Su-Jit Lin</figcaption></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Domestic Brands&nbsp;</h2>

<p><strong>Kimpton Hotels</strong> have become broadly known for going beyond pet-friendly to pet-enthusiastic. Not only do they offer a plethora of creature comforts (emergency food, courtesy poo bags, discounted local pet services <em>standard)</em>, but there are never pet fees, regardless of quantity or size. Look for special dog-friendly events, like outdoor wine receptions, or packages to upgrade your pup’s stay.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Similarly, many of Hyatt’s <strong>Thompson Hotels</strong> and some <strong>Andaz </strong>properties in the U.S. waive the fees and may boast features like a “wooftop bar,” an attraction that’s gotten attention in Miami’s <strong>Hyatt Centric South Beach</strong>. All <strong>Hyatt Place </strong>are also dog-friendly, with a nominal fee that covers up to two dogs; the same applies to several <strong>Park Hyatts.</strong>&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>Loews Hotels</strong> welcome pets with special amenities, and within the Marriott International portfolio, <strong>Westin Hotels &amp; Resorts </strong>and <strong>Aloft Hotels </strong>have over 100 options that accept pets.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="771" height="1024" src="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Hotel-Claremont-Credit-Su-Jit-Lin-1-771x1024.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-5638" srcset="https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Hotel-Claremont-Credit-Su-Jit-Lin-1-771x1024.jpg 771w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Hotel-Claremont-Credit-Su-Jit-Lin-1-226x300.jpg 226w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Hotel-Claremont-Credit-Su-Jit-Lin-1-768x1020.jpg 768w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Hotel-Claremont-Credit-Su-Jit-Lin-1-1157x1536.jpg 1157w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Hotel-Claremont-Credit-Su-Jit-Lin-1-1542x2048.jpg 1542w, https://ustoa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Hotel-Claremont-Credit-Su-Jit-Lin-1-scaled.jpg 1928w" sizes="(max-width: 771px) 100vw, 771px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Hotel Clermont, Photo Credit: Su-Jit Lin</figcaption></figure></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">All-Inclusive Brands&nbsp;</h2>

<p>To everyone’s delight, international resorts are getting in on the fun – no ESA paperwork required! <strong>Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection </strong>has been leading the way, allowing one dog under 22 pounds for a nightly fee that’s often less than the cost of boarding.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Book a pet category room (equipped with a bed, bowls, courtesy toy, and waste bags) at <strong>Zoëtry® Wellness &amp; Spa Resorts, Secrets® Resorts &amp; Spas, Breathless Resorts &amp; Spas®, Dreams® Resorts &amp; Spas,&nbsp;</strong> and <strong>Sunscape® Resorts &amp; Spas </strong>– available at all but four properties – to treat your pup to the beach vacation of everyone’s dreams. For instance, at <strong>Secrets® Moxche Playa del Carmen</strong>, the pool concierge will set up their chair by your side and deliver snacks and water for your furbaby, too.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The <strong>all-inclusive Hard Rock Hotels </strong>in Los Cabos, Cancun, Punta Cana, Riviera Maya, and Puerto Vallarta are proud of their Unleashed program, which charges only $150 extra per pet (up to two weighing as much as 50 pounds each) for the entire stay in certain room categories. This upgrade comes with a sWag bag at check-in, a memory foam bed for the room, and map of designated pet areas.&nbsp;</p>

<p>For even more luxury, <strong>Fairmont Mayakoba, Hotel Xcaret, </strong>and <strong>Hotel Xcaret Arte </strong>are other options in Mexico’s Riviera Maya. At the latter two, your personal butler can help with amenities such as a dog-sized teepee and even let them out for bio breaks. At the former, pets under 25 pounds can receive amenities such as food, toys, and even a boat ride.&nbsp;</p>

<p>If pampering your pooch is the goal, you can’t go wrong with top names like <strong>The Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, </strong>and <strong>St. Regis Hotels &amp; Resorts</strong>. Cost, amenities, and restrictions vary, but as an example, the <strong>Ritz-Carlton Reynolds Lake Oconee </strong>offers a welcome gift pack with collapsible bowl, tennis ball, and gourmet treats. Some properties, such as <strong>The St. Regis Chicago </strong>and <strong>Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club</strong> in Florida, even feature private off-leash dog parks!&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the Caribbean, <strong>The Ritz-Carlton Aruba </strong>– part of the <a href="https://nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.algvacations.com%2Fluxe&amp;data=05%7C02%7Cford%40redpointmarketingpr.com%7C6d3e5ca2f4384a441b4108ddb7ed456d%7C9fa4aa92402e49ff9485c67a6b654817%7C1%7C0%7C638868951929068948%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=jndgRmxnnZM%2BpJnLTQaQvCBA2NigRSjrQphUkmGvD4c%3D&amp;reserved=0" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Luxe by ALG Vacations®</a> portfolio – and their locations in Grand Cayman and Turks &amp; Caicos are dog-friendly. The <strong>St. Regis Bahia Beach</strong> in Puerto Rico even made headlines for allowing guests to foster local shelter dogs in their rooms with hopes of adoption!&nbsp;</p>

<p>Newer brands such as <strong>Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay</strong> offer packages including Tails of Talamanca, which features high-end extras like a chef-led pet menu and access to an on-site “Dog Spaw.”&nbsp;</p>

<p>And don’t forget to check out boutique brands as well! Since these tend to be independently owned and operated, pet-loving management might have flexible policies, and even a mascot. It never hurts to <a href="https://nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.traveladvisorsgetyouthere.com%2F&amp;data=05%7C02%7Cford%40redpointmarketingpr.com%7C6d3e5ca2f4384a441b4108ddb7ed456d%7C9fa4aa92402e49ff9485c67a6b654817%7C1%7C0%7C638868951929109725%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=OQPNLGJrq2WL%2FkEkj6VhrAiAsvOUiTpHkryY924a9zQ%3D&amp;reserved=0" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">ask a travel advisor</a>!&nbsp;</p>
