Communicating Tragic News: Talking with families when loved ones are injured or killed away from home.

Join Dr. Carolyn V. Coarsey, President of Higher Resources, Inc. and Vice President of Corporate Philosophy and Family Assistance Programs for Aviem International, as she addresses best practices to improve post-disaster response. her training programs Human Services Response (TM), highlight the unique role of employees responders of industrial tragedies, are used by aviation and rail companies, tour operators, cruise lines and multiple agencies and organizations throughout the world.

Participants will gain:
  • Guidelines for making contact to set the stage for giving tragic news.
  • Pointers on providing direction for families once the news is communicated.
  • Examples of options and choices that families appreciate during the first few days of crisis.
