Webinar: Tourism Cares - Sustainability Part 1 - World Environment Day

This webinar will be conducted by Paula Vlamings, CIO, and Adrienne Lee, Director of Programs and Partnerships, with Tourism Cares with the participation of Jim Sanos, World Wildlife Fund's (WWF) Vice President for Travel, Tourism and Conservation, Brad Nahill, Co-Founder & President of SEE Turtles and Liz Manning, Responsible Business Manager at The Intrepid Group.

The travel industry is one of the world’s fastest-growing economic sectors. And, we must face the music that we leave a footprint on a destination’s natural and cultural resources and, the very assets our travelers value. Declining wild animals populations, diminishing cultural traditions, overcrowding, polluted beaches, and dying coral reefs are not only bad for the environment but bad for communities and the long term health of our members. There are opportunities to bend the curve, and one game changer is combating illegal wildlife trafficking. We will hear from the presenters on how they’ve partnered with cruise lines, hotels, and tour operators to create and implement a multi-dimensional strategy that reached 100 million travelers in the last six months.
