Webinar: Tourism Cares - Sustainability Part 2 - International Day of Cooperatives

This webinar will be conducted by Paula Vlamings, CIO, and Adrienne Lee, Director of Programs and Partnerships, with Tourism Cares.

Cooperatives and social enterprises are found all over the world and can be a triple win for all stakeholders in the tourism economy. CSR efforts invested in sustainability within the travel “value chain" can support sustainable communities. Tour operators can include cooperatives as a product differentiation in their offerings, as a means for their customers to connect and participate more deeply with local culture. This also provides an “off the beaten path” opportunity many travelers are seeking.  Cooperatives are a win for local communities, driving wealth and benefits from tourism dollars directly into their economies.  And Cooperatives are also a win for the traveller, who just by visiting and purchasing a local product, is helping to support sustained impact in the destination, and also the ability to bring home a meaningful souvenir.  Hear about some of the incredible cooperative models around the globe that support gender equality, local livelihood creation, education, and health programs and how to integrate into the business of travel.
