Eduardo Santander, CEO of ETC, and Tom Jenkins, CEO of ETOA, represent respectively the public and private sectors in inbound tourism to Europe. They will look at what has happened, is happening and what might occur in the European tourism economy. They will also discuss if COVID has had a lasting impact on demand and supply. There is also the question as to how far the crisis has increased or decreased the perceived value of leisure tourism, and how far it has answered “overtourism” critics. Finally they will look at the standing of the American visitor within the European Tourism economy: they were once of supreme importance; are they in danger of being overtaken by Chinese visitors.
